When your group gathers, what is it expected to accomplish? I’m not asking what your group does, but what is it expected to actually accomplish? Many groups may misunderstand their purpose, and if we compiled a comprehensive list of expectations that both the group members and the church have of the group it would be overwhelming.
Our Church and Family Equipping team at the BGCO has put together some video training to help group leaders understand five essential expectations of their group. We will be posting a new video segment each Monday this fall, so join us each week for the next segment.
How is your church organized to actually accomplish its mission?
What is your church’s mission? How well is it going?
In what ways is a small group or Sunday School class best able to help the church with its mission of making disciples?
How evangelistic is your group? Who is the last person that accepted Christ as Lord and Savior as a result of your group’s ministry?
You are welcome to download each segment and use it in your leadership training. By the way, included in the series are videos for student leaders and leaders of childhood groups too.
