Take a picture at your next group meeting!
Then print it and attach it to the wall, and also email it to all of your group members.
Do you realize that your group is a snapshot of your church! Here is the idea: how your church functions and ministers in the macro (big picture) is really seen by how it ministers in the micro (small picture). Your group is how your church is organized to accomplish its mission. So whatever your church’s mission is (big picture), your group should be a living picture of the church’s mission (small picture).
So what is your church’s mission? To make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). Your group’s mission then is to make disciples. The group makes disciples through Bible study, ministry, connecting and belonging, prayer, missions and evangelism.
May I make a suggestion? Many people get so caught up trying to change the church at the macro level. Instead of changing the whole church at once at the macro level(which is a huge issue), how about just trying to change your group, at the micro level? It is much easier to change a small group than change an entire church, but after enough small groups have changed… change will come to the church.
