You may have noticed I took a break from the blog, about an 8 week break actually! My plate has been full between being the Interim Education Minister at FBC-Moore (where we are trying to start 50 new groups); teaching an online class on Church Education at Oklahoma Baptist University; and then I have this job here at the BGCO that keeps me plenty busy as well! Something had to give! So keeping up the blog had to take a backseat for a while until I could get on top of everything else.
At any rate, I’m returning to my former plan of two blog posts per week, beginning next week. And I’m really excited about a new series we are going to begin on Mondays called “Things I wish I knew when I started…” It is going to be a series especially written for Ministers of Education, but I think just about anyone in the Sunday School/Small Group movement will enjoy.
Another item, we are putting the finishing touches on this year’s premier Sunday School equipping event in Oklahoma, One Day X-Factor. I am finishing up the resource book for this equipping event over the weekend. One Day X-Factor is a training event where we try to train as many Sunday School leaders as possible in one day, August 26. Last year, we trained over 9,000 Sunday School leaders across our state. This year’s material has some new resources in it, and includes a special 35 minute simulcast with the BGCO’s Dr. Anthony Jordan on August 26 at 6:00 p.m.
One Day X-Factor materials are going to be shipped to Oklahoma churches in mid-May. If you’re in Oklahoma, begin looking for your One Day resource kit then.
