Bob, what helps me to remember someone's name is that I keep repeating their names over and over again in my head after I meet that person. Nothing feels awkward then calling someone the wrong name! I've done my share with that and got some few stares to go along with it. I refuse to make the same mistakes again :)

I have encouraged my entire congregation to read the Bible through this year. I preached a sermon entitled "Light the Lamp" on Sunday and I had six people ask for a reading plan and several others ask about Youversion. I even had one come forward and ask to me to be an accountability partner for this initiative. I can't wait to see what God will do with this.

Harold, the focus of most of my blog's content is on adult groups, although the basic principles apply across the board to all age groups.

However, my friend Mark Jones has an excellent blog designed especially for grade school leaders. You can find it at http://mrmarksclassroom.com/

Bob, that is a great analogy for our small groups to be involve in local and global missions. Under the leadership of our previous interim discipleship pastor, our church has accepted His mission to make a difference in local schools. God has brought students for tutoring. Some of these students came to faith in Christ.

This principle- that our purpose as group leaders is to lead discipleship in our groups- is key to a quality, successful assimilation ministry. Thanks for the reminder!
